Shelton-Inspired Brand to Have a Home in Opry Member’s Hometown
Grand Ole Opry Member Blake Shelton and Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RHP) this week officially kicked off construction of Ole Red Tishomingo, an entertainment venue on Main Street in the singer’s hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The venue, scheduled to open Fall 2017, is set to include a 4,700-square-foot restaurant and performance space as well as a 1,400-square-foot retail store.
Designed to embody the spirit of Shelton’s hit “Ol’ Red’”, the venue is part of the Ole Red brand, which will be anchored by a $20 million multi-level entertainment venue in the heart of Music City’s famed Lower Broadway set to open in 2018. The Ole Red brand is part of Ryman Hospitality Properties’ strategy to create digital content, retail and entertainment venues that celebrate the country lifestyle and resonate with country music’s rapidly growing consumer base of more than 100 million people across the United States.
Colin Reed, Ryman Hospitality Properties Chairman and CEO, said, “We’re investing in this location in Tishomingo because of the tremendous connection Blake has to his fans. We believe this venue will attract tourists from all over who want to come hear authentic country music in Blake’s hometown. We view this location as a prime opportunity to add another dimension to the Ole Red brand.”
“This song has been such a big record for me,” Shelton said, “And now it’s turned into this. It’s pretty incredible. … When you go in there, it’s going to be our lifestyle, our lifestyle here in Tishomingo.”
The Company is working with Nelson & Morgan Architects (Ardmore, Oklahoma) and Nashville’s Anderson Design Studios on the Tishomingo project. Kornhaus Construction (Ardmore, Oklahoma) will serve as the General Contractor.
